Project Description
Project carried out for the largest public TV operator in Colombia in which its Teleport is modernized and updated with the installation of a new main antenna for the distribution of the satellite TV signal to the regional centers. The project included the supply, installation, configuration, approval and start-up of the complete transmission system including a 7.3m motorized Cassegrain antenna, a 1+0 dual amplification system with latest generation GaAs amplifiers, as well as a complete remote control system and system configuration.
BTESA’s experience as a telecommunications systems integrator allowed us to implement an optimal solution for the client with state-of-the-art equipment:
- 7.3m Cassegrain antenna with an individual motorization system for each axis, for the control and automatic search of satellites.
- High quality remote control, tracking and monitoring system for the antenna that allows a pointing precision of 0.05º as well as an immediate change of satellite through predefined configurations
- High linearity SSPB amplification system with redundancy using GaAs second generation solid state amplifiers.
This installation was a challenge for the work team since it was carried out in the national nodal center with the use of highly specialized work teams and the use of heavy-duty cranes. The pointing, configuration and start-up were also carried out by BTESA specialists and later the entire system was approved by the satellite operator.
