WiMAX (IEEE 802.16 – 2012) is the only international standard designed for metropolitan environments (Metropolitan Area Networks or MAN). Our position as WiMAX equipment manufacturers, through our subsidiary Albentia Systems, gives us a unique advantage in pushing this technology further.
By integrating other narrowband technologies (such as ZigBee and Bluetooth) into our equipment, we enable our network to incorporate sensors from different manufacturers and technologies into a single metropolitan network—without relying on external telecom operators (3G/GPRS). This significantly reduces the recurring costs of Smart Cities to the absolute minimum.
