Project Description

240km 1Gbps Radiolink Equatorial Guinea

Project to design and implement a radiolink working as backup of the main fiber optic network in Guinea Ecuatorial to its main Telecom operator. This radiolink has a maximum capacity of 1 Gb/s, with a vain of 240km joining the mainland of the country (Bata) with the capital (Malabo) in Bioko island all over the oceanic surface.

It is one of the longest radiolinks in the world with such capacity. Despite the lack of bibliography about extreme-long radiolinks, and the technical complexity of the propagation of the microwaves in such a distance (Multipath, fading and the creation of conducts are examples of the propagation events present in these type of links) Btesa proposed a solution based in microwaves in C Band with large antennas in space diversity, adaptative modulation and carrier aggregation.

The project was developed by the systems engineering department in BTESA who worked in the design, planification and successful installation of the project.
