For this important project Axion has trusted BTESA for the reliability of its transmitters and for its capabilities in integration and supplying of turnkey projects.
This turnkey project comprises the complete chain: transmission (DAB+ transmitters and antenna), contribution (AES/EBU to IP audio encoders) and headend systems (encoders/multiplexers), as well as transport, installation and commissioning of the complete solution.
Among the different advantages offered by BTESA we can highlight the high efficiency of the transmitters, redundant configuration in every module, the intuitive head-end system dashboard and EDI monitoring.
BTESA is proud to participate in this historic milestone together with @Axion, as this is the first local digital radio broadcasting in the Balearic Islands, contributing in this way to the current momentum of Digital Terrestrial Radio, since, currently, both the public and private sectors are taking different steps to make the implementation of DAB/DAB+ in Spain possible.
The DAB technology (Digital Audio Broadcasting) consists of the digital transmission of audio through radio waves, which provides advantages such as: higher sound quality, less interference, greater number of programs through the same channel, better use of the spectrum and data broadcasting together with the audio.
DAB+ is an evolution of DAB. The difference between the two basically lies in the audio codec used. DAB+ uses AAC+ which makes broadcasts even more efficient, allowing a greater number of programs in each multiplex.
