The new Mobile Communications Unit for the emergency service (112) of the Generalitat Valenciana celebrates its first year of operation

BTESA implemented the project for ILUNION IT Services, the company responsible for the operation and technological maintenance of the 112 system of Valencia Region.

The new Advanced Communications Unit “Satcom 2” allows the Generalitat to have coverage anywhere in the territory.

BTESA, with extensive experience in the integration of both mobile television units and mobile communication units, customized the design as per the client’s needs. On a 4×4 cab chassis, a large working area was designed for up to 3 operator stations with a large monitor with multi-viewer, adjacent to a technical area, both air-conditioned.

On the nonskid walkable roof, together with all the safety measures, the following equipment was installed: 2 parabolic antennas for satellite and VSAT communications, 2 telescopic masts up to 6m for Tetra and video reception antennas, 1 folding mast for an HDTV camera, and other communications systems (WiMAX, VHF air band, GSM2/3/4G/GPS)

The 112 emergency system counts now on a new mobile unit with more technical capabilities via satellite than the previous unit, to provide broadband internet with VSAT technology or to establish a mobile base station of the Comdes network in those places where a fire is declared and there is no coverage of that network.
